A contrasting day of fortunes for Rothwell Corinthians on Easter Saturday.

The First Team built on their midweek success at Harrowby after winning 1-0 at high-flying Cogenhoe United this afternoon. The victory was secured six minutes into the second-half when Kalon Peniasko scored with a peach of a goal from approx. 50 yards. The win takes us onto 38 points of the season and we are now ten points clear of the drop zone after Oadby, who fell to second bottom following their midweek defeat to Sileby Rangers, lost at Deeping today. Their next game will, of course, be the big one away at Desborough on Monday. "Ar Tarn" will go into this fixture no doubt looking to bounce back from a derby day defeat at Harborough on Friday night.

The Reserves, meanwhile, had a bewildering game at home to Raunds Town today. After making a fantastic start to proceedings in the early stages of the first-half by establishing a 3-0 lead through goals from Will Linnett who recorded a brace and Alex McNicol only for "The Shopmates" to respond by scoring as many goals to ensure both sides went in at the break level on scores. The visitors then notched in two further goals in the second-half as they exacted revenge following our recent Knock-Out Cup victory. "The Stiffs" are next in action on Wednesday when they entertain Wellingborough Whitworth. This game will see the Reserve Division's bottom two sides face-up to each other with the gap remaining a solitary point after "The Flourmen" narrowly lost 3-2 against Rushden & Higham today.
